Report lays bare suffering from UK Post Office scandal

Thirteen people may have taken their own lives, and others went bankrupt or seriously ill about the post office scandal of the UK, or the public investigation of the country’s wage of one of the worst abortions of justice.
The investigation chairman Wyn Williams said on Tuesday that the administrators in the state’s post office, despite the fact that the computer system could make mistakes despite the fact that it was right, he said or should know.
Between 2000-2013, the post office followed branch managers for losses in a CT system, which appeared in his accounts but actually provided by the Japanese computer company Fujitsu.
Approximately 1000 people were convicted.
Mr. Bates, a public anger about the scandal, which was mounted last year after the TV dramatization of the case, led to destroying those convicted against the Post Office.
In the first 162 -page volume of his report, Williams called for emergency action to provide “full and fair” compensation for the victims.
The suggestions included free legal advice and compensation for family members.
He said it was impossible to fully identify how many people were affected, but about 10,000 plaintiffs in the four compensation plan.
Williams, who detailed 17 accounts from the first hand, said that suffering, incorrectly imprisoned, seriously ill, or directed to despair and suicide.
Postmaster Martin Griffiths, after the deficiencies in the accounts in 2013, the termination of the contract was reported.
Later, he deliberately walked in front of a bus, subjected to more than one injury that caused his death at the age of 59.
Following the investigation request, the post office families named them six former postmaster, who said they had taken their own lives.
In the report, according to their families, seven non -postmaster people have taken their own lives as a result of false deficiencies.
Others experienced mental and physical health problems, bankruptcy and relationship malfunctions.
Business Secretary Jonathan Reynolds said that the publication of the report is an important milestone for the sub -postmasters and their families.
“I am determined to ensure that the wrong sub -mail managers are fully, fair and quickly corrected,” he said.
