According to multiple reports, John Harbaugh and the New York Giants are working on a deal to make him the team’s next head coach.
The deal is reportedly not finalized yet, but Harbaugh is expected to come to New York, subject to unforeseen setbacks.
Harbaugh interviewed in person with the Giants on Wednesday and spent hours at the team facility in East Rutherford, New Jersey. The former Super Bowl-winning coach of the Baltimore Ravens was believed to be New York’s top candidate in the search for Brian Daboll’s full-time successor.

Harbaugh, who was fired by the Baltimore Ravens after missing the playoffs due to a missed field goal attempt at the buzzer in the season finale, is on track to pick the Giants over other potential landing spots, including Tennessee and Atlanta.
Harbaugh’s release from the Ravens has made him the most sought-after coaching candidate of the current era and, arguably, one of the most coveted coaching candidates in recent NFL history.
President Donald Trump even endorsed Harbaugh on the Truth Social Post, then specifically endorsed the idea of the Giants hiring Harbaugh in a later post.
“The New York Football Giants should, without a doubt, hire John Harbaugh – And John, a great guy, SHOULD GET THE JOB!!!” Trump posted on Truth Social on Saturday.

Trump appears to have had his way, with Harbaugh and the Giants appearing ready to reach a deal.
Veteran sports agent Leigh Steinberg previously told Fox News Digital that he believes the Giants stand out as the best destination for Harbaugh.
“I don’t know why, but the New York Giants stand out to me,” Steinberg said.

The Ravens made the playoffs 12 times under Harbaugh and won the Super Bowl in the 2012 season, a year after the Giants’ last title.
General manager Joe Schoen, who returns for a fifth season to run the football operations department, said he will cast a wide net in his search for a coach. Interviewing Raheem Morris and Antonio Pierce met the NFL’s Rooney Rule requirements for minority or female candidates, and Harbaugh’s visit to northern New Jersey paved the way for him to recruit before any of more than a half-dozen teams with vacancies.
