MAGA civil war deepens as Tucker Carlson meets with Trump in the Oval Office while teasing conservative rivals… as ADL says he should have ‘no place in the White House’

Tucker Carlson met with Donald Trump at the White House on Friday, and his appearance in the Oval Office sparked a new chapter in the growing MAGA civil war.

The former Fox News anchor was seen smiling in footage shared on social media by the Tucker Carlson Network, which included a friendly conversation with Secretary of State Marco Rubio.

White House Chief of Staff Susie Wiles was also seen at the meeting.

The Anti-Defamation League, a non-profit organization with a mission to combat anti-Semitism, issued a scathing response to the meeting at X, writing: ‘Tucker Carlson should have no place in the White House. ‘It has amplified and platformed anti-Semitic narratives for years.’

Carlson faced criticism from conservative friends for hosting far-right provocateur and white supremacist Nick Fuentes on his show.

Fox News’ conservative broadcaster Mark Levin sparked outrage by calling Carlson a ‘Nazi supporter’ for hosting Fuentes.

In response to Carlson’s invitation to meet with Trump, podcaster and former Fox personality Megyn Kelly mocked Levin, commenting that the social media post would give him an “aneurysm.”

Kelly said her disagreements with Levin stemmed from working with him at Fox News and criticized him for attacking other MAGA influencers as the movement has shown signs of splintering in recent weeks.

Under Carlson’s post on Instagram, nicotine pouch company ALP also shared a video comment mocking Laura Loomer.

Trump frequently defended Tucker Carlson

Levin became a leading voice within the conservative movement advocating for greater US military action abroad, particularly in Iran; this stance increasingly put him at odds with anti-intervention figures, including Carlson.

“The American people do not want the Islamist-Nazi regime in Iran to have nuclear weapons,” Levin said in a broadcast last spring.

‘They don’t want them to have missile technology that can put a nuclear warhead on an intercontinental ballistic missile and hit the United States.’

Levin went on to call Carlson an ‘idiot’ for his comments about Steve Witkoff, the US Special Representative for the Middle East in the Trump administration.

‘He is now free to do whatever he wants. I believe in freedom of expression. Go ahead, buy a subscription. Do whatever you want, that’s fine with me. But don’t make fun of me by twisting my words, you little bastard,’ Levin said in a harsh message to Carlson.

Kelly, meanwhile, defended her former Fox News colleague by appearing with Carlson at a live taping of his podcast in New York last November.

“He’s back and bigger than ever,” Kelly said when introducing him as a guest.

During the discussion, a listener asked Carlson why he was hosting Fuentes on his podcast.

Kelly has been a longtime supporter of Carlson and even invited him to film a live taping of his podcast

Other conservative commentators, including Ben Shapiro, previously criticized Tucker Carlson for hosting Nick Fuentes on his podcast.

“I really don’t know anything about Nick Fuentes other than the fact that he attacked my father, my wife, and my son,” Carlson replied. Vanity Fair.

Kelly appeared to agree with Carlson’s reasoning, adding that Fuentes has five million subscribers on the conservative platform Rumble.

While Kelly and seemingly Trump have softened on Carlson, other prominent figures in the MAGA movement have sought to oust him entirely.

Right-wing podcaster Ben Shapiro called out Carlson at Turning Point’s USA AmericaFest conference in December.

“If you’re hosting a Hitler-defending, Nazi-loving, anti-American scumbag like Nick Fuentes… the person who said Charlie Kirk was an ‘idiot’… you should own up to that,” Shapiro said.

He also included Kelly, Candace Owens and Steve Bannon in his criticism, calling them ‘scammers’ and ‘con artists’.

Carlson spoke after Shapiro at AmericaFest and used the opportunity to voice his own insults against his one-time ally Shapiro, branding Shapiro “smug.”

‘There’s no harm in asking questions. I thought that was the only reason we were against the left. They won’t force you to go out there and make ritual denunciations.’

The president has neglected to openly take sides in the MAGA civil war. However he said New York Times He said last week that he did not believe extremists like Nick Fuentes should be accepted into the movement.

Trump was referring to his daughter Ivanka Trump, who converted to Judaism before marrying Jared Kushner.

‘I’m so proud of them. I’m so proud of this whole family. ‘I’m probably the least antisemitic person anywhere in the world.’

But when asked specifically about Fuentes, Trump said he did not know him and ignored the dinner they had together at Mar-a-Lago in 2022.

ADL CEO Jonathan Greenblatt condemned Trump’s recent dinner with Fuentes at a synagogue in Los Angeles.

Greenblatt called Owens and Carlson “disgusting” but praised Levin and Shapiro for “pushing back” against antisemitic beliefs.

Activist group StopAntisemitism named Carlson Antisemite of the Year last year. Owens was awarded the title in 2024.

MAGA figures also feuded over the assassination of Charlie Kirk. Owens is accused of peddling conspiracy theories that Israel or an unspecified conspiracy was behind the murder.

‘People who refuse to condemn Candace’s truly vicious attacks – some of whom are speaking here tonight – are guilty of cowardice. Yes, cowardice,” Shapiro said at AmericaFest.

‘It’s just as cowardly that they said nothing while Candace has been spewing all kinds of disgusting and conspiratorial nonsense into the public square for years.’
