Forensic Report Is Court Document, Not Political Claim, Says AAP

Chandigarh: The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Saturday accused the BJP and Congress of misleading the public by questioning the forensic report on an allegedly doctored video of party leader Atishi.
AAP Punjab president Aman Arora said the matter was no longer a political debate but a challenge to the judicial order as the report had already been registered by a court.
He said the court, after reviewing the reports submitted by the State Forensic Science Laboratory, clearly noted that the viral video had been doctored and the alleged derogatory word was not present in the original audio file.
Arora said the court also ordered the removal of the video and blocking it on social media platforms.
“Questioning the judicial findings presented to the court means questioning the outcome of the court, not a political party,” he said.
AAP minister Laljit Singh Bhullar said repeating false allegations cannot change the facts.
He said the judicial finding based on forensic evidence is on record and cannot be invalidated by political comments.
Reacting to Congress leader Pargat Singh’s remarks, Bhullar said it was irresponsible to drag religious sentiments into an issue based on manipulated content.
He said circulating doctored clips for political gain was hurting the sentiments of Sikhs.
The Aam Aadmi Party urged Pargat Singh and BJP leader Sunil Jakhar to respect judicial institutions and accept court findings regardless of political differences.
A controversy flared on January 6 when the BJP accused former Delhi chief minister Atishi of disrespecting the Sikh Gurus in the Delhi Assembly.
The BJP said the alleged remarks were made following a debate on the government program held last year to mark the 350th martyrdom anniversary of Guru Tegh Bahadur.
