President Trump commutes prison sentence of Arkansas Rep. Steve Womack’s son
LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – President Donald Trump commuted the federal sentence of the son of Arkansas U.S. Rep. Steve Womack on Thursday.
James Phillip Womack was indicted in April 2023 for distribution of more than five grams of methamphetamine and possession of a firearm.
Arkansas Rep. Steve Womack gets President Donald Trump’s endorsement for re-election
Womack was later sentenced to eight years in federal prison in May 2024 for distribution of more than five grams of meth. He had previously been arrested on drug-related charges.

Trump’s decision commutes the remainder of that prison sentence while also preserving Womack’s five-year probation.
