Illegal immigrants on video fleeing federal law enforcement agents on rooftops

Dramatic video shows several illegal immigrants crossing rooftops in California trying to evade federal immigration agents during an enforcement operation at a small construction site.
Frantic footage shows two people climbing a ladder onto the roof of a Montebello home Wednesday, shortly after authorities arrived outside the single-story home. Montebello is a city in Los Angeles County
One of the men tried to drop the ladder to the ground to prevent the agents from pursuing it, but an officer caught the ladder and pressed it against the house.

The illegal immigrants then dispersed and escaped by jumping onto separate rooftops nearby.
A Department of Homeland Security (DHS) spokesperson told Fox News Digital that the incident occurred during a U.S. Border Patrol enforcement operation in the Montebello area.

“These operations resulted in the arrest of five illegal aliens from Mexico and Guatemala who were in violation of this country’s immigration laws,” a DHS spokesperson said. “These individuals will remain in custody until further immigration proceedings.”
Local broadcaster ABC7 reported that the labor boss initially claimed no one had been detained. However, DHS later confirmed to Fox News Digital that five people were arrested during the operation.

DHS said the enforcement activity was carried out as part of a broader Trump administration effort to curb illegal immigration.

The incident occurred as the White House moved to implement what officials described as the largest deportation effort in U.S. history, a policy that sparked outrage in sanctuary cities and other Democratic-led areas.
