For many years I have listened to people from David and Victoria’s circle criticize the Beckhams. Some of them were former employees, while others knew them from different walks of life.

And sometimes these accusations were unpleasant.

After all, David and Victoria are ambitious A-list superstars and are far from perfect.

But no matter how harsh their criticisms were against the Beckhams, what all these people agreed on was that they were smart, loving parents who would do anything for their children.

Instead, Brooklyn explained that he wanted to spend some special “quality” time with his father. How sassy does that sound?

They’ve been in love with Brooklyn since the day he was born. All they wanted was to give him the best start they could in life.

As an extremely well-connected couple, they offered her as many opportunities as they could, but considering this heartbreaking post, that doesn’t seem to be enough. Instead, Brooklyn believes he is being controlled by them and says this worries him.

Over the last decade I’ve come to learn just how much the Beckhams love Brooklyn, as many stories have come my way that don’t portray it in a very good light.

Some involved him mixing with the wrong crowd, others were ‘kiss and tell’ ex-girlfriends.

At every opportunity, as I pitched these stories to the Beckhams’ camp, their PR machines went into overdrive in Brooklyn’s defense, occasionally instructing expensive lawyers to protect him.

But today Brooklyn seems to have forgotten all of that. They ignored how David and Victoria had gone to great lengths to provide him with these opportunities and connections.

All they did was what any loving parent would do; Trying to help Brooklyn and her other children along the way, point them in the right direction and help them realize their potential.

Despite their busy careers, children were their absolute priority.

Brooklyn reflected all this unconditional love on David and Victoria’s faces. He seems to have forgotten the fact that the row actually started last May when he and Nicola, who came to the UK from the US, refused to attend a family party to celebrate David’s 50th birthday.

Instead, Brooklyn explained that he wanted to spend some special “quality” time with his father. How sassy does that sound?

If Brooklyn and Nicola think this will help their image, they are sadly mistaken. To me, this is evidence of something we already know: that they are nothing but overindulgent nepo babies who can’t get their own way.

David and Victoria will of course be completely devastated. His friends believe his lengthy post was cruelly designed to upset them, and they first heard of their son’s character assassination within minutes of it going live.

Shortly after the explosion, various family friends contacted to share their sorrow. Not just for David, Victoria and the other kids, but also for Brooklyn.

But the question on everyone’s lips is: Why did Brooklyn choose to become a free agent now?

The attack came just days after he and Nicola parted ways with ‘attack dog’ publicist Matthew Hiltzik. I’m told Hiltzik was disappointed in the couple and their determination to antagonize Posh and Becks; He seems to be trying to save them from themselves by advising them to button up.

Then a story appeared in the New York Post last Friday. This was an overview of the saga; A source said they believed Brooklyn would soon reconcile with his family, and those around him couldn’t see why.

Did this allegation lead Brooklyn to publicly berate her parents in the most brutal ways via the Instagram account where she blocked them?

I know Brooklyn is angry that her parents blame Nicola for this fight. But actually this is again their showing of parental concern, because they were worried about him.

They believe that Brooklyn changed when he met Nicola and that they lost her. They believe their son is controlled by him and that he is a narcissist. They will not step back from this belief.

As for who wrote the post, it’s safe to say this isn’t Brooklyn because it’s too complicated. This will worry Posh and the Becks even more as it appears to add weight to their theory that Nicola is being controlled in America, where she spends so much time with her billionaire parents Nelson and Claudia – both of whom are despised by the Beckham clan.

One of the low points of the mission for David and Victoria will be the mention of their ‘future family’. Becoming grandparents is a dream for them and from this sentence it is very clear that they will not be able to see any of Brooklyn’s children unless things improve.

Brooklyn’s hatred for his parents will surely devastate the wider family, and his younger siblings will be furious.

Both Romeo and Cruz remained fiercely loyal to their parents and are angry at how their older siblings treated them.

As for Harper, she’s just as innocent. But a relationship with Brooklyn is absolutely impossible now.

There’s also Brooklyn’s aging grandparents, whom he claims to still talk to but hasn’t seen for most of the year.

Just a few days after this discussion began, I was told that David and Victoria had no expectation that their beloved eldest son would want to talk to them anytime soon – or even ever again.

I was hoping I was wrong. But now, tragically, I fear that I am not.
