Brooklyn Beckham accuses mum Victoria of ‘hijacking’ his first dance with wife Nicola Peltz and ‘humiliating’ him at his own wedding by behaving inappropriately

Brooklyn Beckham claimed his mother Victoria ‘missed’ his and his wife Nicola Peltz’s first dance and then acted ‘very inappropriately’ towards her.

Victoria and David’s eldest son, 26, made an explosive statement on Instagram on Monday, making bombshell accusations about their 2022 wedding in the latest development in the family’s ongoing feud.

Brooklyn said he was ‘humiliated’ after his 51-year-old mother stopped him from dancing with his new wife and insisted she go on stage with him instead.

But while the newlyweds were planning a very romantic performance, Victoria reportedly chose to dance ‘on top of her son in a very inappropriate way’ in front of their 500 guests.

He wrote: ‘My mother missed my first dance with my partner, which I had planned weeks in advance to a romantic love song.

‘In front of our 500 wedding guests, Marc Anthony called me to the stage; ‘I was scheduled to have a romantic dance with my wife on the programme, but my mother was waiting to dance with me instead’.

He continued: ‘He danced with me in a very inappropriate way in front of everyone. I have never felt so uncomfortable or humiliated in my entire life. We wanted to renew our vows so we could create new memories of our wedding day that brought us joy and happiness, not anxiety and shame.

The Daily Mail has contacted Victoria Beckham’s representatives for comment.

Brooklyn and Nicola wed in April 2022 in a lavish £3.5 million wedding at the Peltz family estate in Palm Beach, Florida.

They later renewed their wedding vows in August 2025, when Brooklyn’s parents and siblings were not invited to the ceremony in New York’s Westchester County.

Elsewhere in his statement, Brooklyn claimed his parents had been ‘trying relentlessly’ to ruin his relationship with Nicola since the wedding.

‘Despite how excited she was to wear Nicola’s design, my mother canceled making Nicola’s dress at the eleventh hour, forcing her to find a new dress urgently.

‘In the weeks before our big day, my family repeatedly pressured and tried to bribe me into signing away the rights to my name, which would affect me, my wife and our future children.

‘They were insistent that I sign the contract before my wedding date because then the terms of the agreement would come into effect.

‘My extension affected the payday and they have never treated me the same since.

She continued: ‘During the wedding planning my mother went so far as to call me “bad” because Nicola and I chose to include my Nanny Sandra and Nicola’s Naunni at our table because neither of them had a husband. Both our parents had their own desk equally adjacent to ours.

‘The night before our wedding, members of my family told me that Nicola was ‘not blood related’ and ‘not family’.’

Nicola has previously claimed her mother-in-law ignored her for days after she offered to design her wedding dress, then foiled the bride’s plans and told her her studio couldn’t actually produce the dress.

The heiress wore a stunning Couture Valentino gown to the nuptials, but claimed her initial plan was for her to wear a custom-made gown designed by her mother, Victoria.

The devastating news stunned Nicola; because her stylist Leslie Fremar and her mother Claudia were also preparing to join the design dream team. The plan was canceled in a meeting between Victoria and Nicola’s mother.

In an explosive interview Grazia USA She revealed in 2022: ‘We connected to start designing the dress and a few days went by and I didn’t hear anything. Victoria called my mother and said her workshop couldn’t come.’

He wrote: ‘For years I have remained silent and made every effort to keep these matters confidential.’

Brooklyn claimed: ‘The night before our wedding, members of my family told me that Nicola was ‘not blood related’ and ‘not family’.

‘No matter how hard we try to get together, my family constantly disrespects my partner,’ he continued

‘The narrative that my partner controls me is completely opposite. “I’ve been controlled by my family for most of my life,” he continued.

Loving husband Brooklyn has made his position clear amid the family feud, telling the publication that Nicola is his ‘number one priority’ and that they ‘have each other’s backs 100 per cent’.

Nicola, daughter of New York billionaire Nelson Peltz, tried to make amends by explaining: ‘I was planning to wear Victoria’s wedding dress and was really excited to be able to wear a design my future mother-in-law created.

‘I thought it was such a beautiful, beautiful story.’

After Victoria made the announcement that she couldn’t make her bride’s dress, Nicola recalled: ‘I spoke to my mum and Leslie and thought: “Unfortunately this can’t happen, so what’s the next step?”

‘I have been a fan of Valentino and their couture for a long time. I was really lucky to be able to travel [the atelier] to try on the dress. That’s what really happened.’

The wedding dress drama was further enhanced when Victoria not only wore her own dress design that day, but four of her closest friends and her own mother also attended the weddings wearing her designs.
