In particular, Sikorski visited Pakistan in October 2025 and held bilateral meetings with the leaders.

“Deputy Prime Minister, you are no stranger to our region and are all too familiar with the long-standing challenges of cross-border terrorism. EAM also highlighted India’s stance on the Ukraine conflict and called the “selective targeting” of New Delhi “unfair and unfair”.

“Today, we will naturally touch on regional and global developments in our conversation. It will be especially useful to share evaluations about our neighborhoods. You explained this to the public during your visit.”

“In the recent past, both in New York last September and in Paris this January, I have candidly shared our views on the Ukraine conflict and its consequences. While doing so, I have also repeatedly emphasized that selective targeting of India is both unfair and unjust. Today, I am doing so once again,” EAM said.

India-Poland Bilateral Relations

Welcoming bilateral ties between India and Poland, EAM Jaishankar, referring to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Poland in August 2024, said, “Our bilateral relationship has also progressed steadily, but still needs constant maintenance. India and Poland have traditionally enjoyed warm and friendly relations. Recent years have been marked by high-level political exchanges and vibrant economic and people-to-people ties.” he said.

Why Is Poland Acting Against India’s Interests?

India-Pakistan Tension

It is noteworthy that Sikorski held meetings with Pakistani Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar during his visit to Islamabad in October. After this meeting, a joint statement was published, including Kashmir.

In the Polish-Pakistan joint statement, it was reported that the situation defined as the “Kashmir dispute” was mentioned and a “solution” was advocated in line with the principles of the UN Security Council.

New Delhi and Islamabad have long had a dispute over the region. While the Pakistani administration continues to deny any involvement, India has repeatedly exposed Pakistan-supported cross-border terrorism on the international stage.

Russia-Ukraine Tension

For India, Russia has long been a key strategic partner, with the two countries maintaining strong trade and diplomatic ties. Regarding the conflict between Moscow and Kiev, New Delhi has repeatedly reiterated its call for an end to hostilities and restoration of peace.

However, Warsaw took a more determined position to support Ukraine, standing firmly on Kiev’s side in its conflict with Moscow. Poland’s stance is also shaped by its membership in the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO).
