Reform boss issues defection update – bad news for Kemi and Starmer | Politics | News

The chairman of Reform England has issued a stern “last chance” warning to politicians in Westminster, revealing that he has turned away scores of MPs seeking asylum in the party. Speaking exclusively to the Daily Expresso Podcast hosted by JJ Anisiobi, Dr. David Bull confirmed the party was rejecting “unsuitable” MPs from all parties.

The revelation of the defection came as Reform set a May 7 deadline for MPs wishing to join Nigel Farage’s rebel party. Dr Bull said: “I have actually rejected members of parliament because they are unfit.”

He confirmed he had rejected “quite a few” from across the political spectrum, insisting Reform would “not need to compromise” on its values to attract defectors. The party chairman gave a clear ultimatum to undecided MPs, saying: “You have until May 7, you are either with us or you are not.”

Dr Bull warned: “What we cannot do is become a nursing home for failed MPs.” He added: “We will take on those who stand up for our values, and only those who stand up for our values.”

The comments come after a number of Conservative MPs, including Nadhim Zahawi, Andrew Rosunull and Robert Jenrick, switched to Reform last week. Dr Bull insisted Jenrick was “100% in line with what we are doing” and defended the former Conservative shadow Justice Secretary’s defection.

But when pressed by host JJ Anisiobi on whether former Labor MP Kate Hoey was considering leaving the party, Dr. Bull kept his mouth shut. “I’m not telling you,” he said.

When he went further, he added: “Of course, I’m being very careful here.” The head of Reform UK has painted a damning picture of Westminster politics, claiming “People are pretty rude about Reform” in the corridors of power.

He described reform supporters as “people who are sick and tired of the way this country is going.” He took aim at Labor, saying the Government was “attacking everyone”.

Dr Bull launched a scathing tirade against the Conservative Party, claiming it was fundamentally corrupt. “The Conservative Party is not a single party, it is made up of five or six different parties,” he said. […] There are balaclava liberals, there are people who might be further right of center.”

He said Conservative Party leader Kemi Badenoch was struggling to keep them together, adding that it was “like holding a dessert”. These latest comments will have distressing consequences for Kemi Badenoch and Sir Keir Starmer, whose support for Reform UK has been hemorrhaged in the polls.

The reform boss struck an apocalyptic tone about Britain’s future, warning: “I feel like this is the last chance hall for the UK.” His comments come as Reform continues to rise in the polls, with recent polls showing the party eclipsing both the Conservatives and Labor.

The May 7 deadline coincides with crucial local elections in which Reform hopes to make significant gains and prove it can turn poll success into votes. Dr Bull insisted Reform would remain selective about departures, saying he was confident they could attract quality candidates without compromising their principles.
