Two irrigation projects of ₹558 cr for Kangra district get central clearance

Shimla, July 8 (PTI) in more than 160 villages in Kangra region of Himachal thousands of farmers, two important middle irrigation projects will be provided directly benefit LaDeputy Prime Minister Mukesh Agnihotri, 558 Crore’s central government was given technical approval, he said.

“These projects will be implemented in the Kangra region and it was expected to provide irrigation to approximately 160 villages, providing direct benefits to thousands of farmers and increasing agricultural efficiency in the region.” He said.

By sharing the details, LaThe 219 Crore Sukhahar Middle Irrigation Project proposed in the election zone of the Jawali Assembly, JAL SHAKTİ Ministry of Union and LaThe 339 Crore Middle Irrigation Project, which includes parts of the election zones of the Jwalayukhi and Dehra Assembly, also received technical clarity.

Sukhaahar, 45 Jawali and Shahpur will provide an irrigation plant for 2,186 hectares of land in the election zone and approximately 24,120 rural areas will benefit from this project. The region has faced a large number of agricultural difficulties due to the lack of revenue and irrigation facilities.

The project, which once covered the parts of the election zones of the Jwalayukhi and Dehra Assembly, will provide irrigation to 116 villages and benefit thousands of farmers in traditional water cowardly regions.

He said that these projects not only develop agricultural production, but also create new employment opportunities for local youth. Talented workers from the region will be preferred to carry out construction works and technical training will be provided to include them in technical studies.

Agnihotri said that these irrigation plans will encourage the protection of groundwater, increase water usage efficiency and support crop diversity and thus make agriculture more resistant to climate change.

Deputy Prime Minister said that the process of obtaining financial sanctions for these projects has already been initiated and that the construction will be accelerated to ensure that the construction starts without delay. He directed the relevant departments to implement these projects in a transparent and transparent way.
