ICE agents harassed, spat on by agitators at Minneapolis gas stations, DHS says

The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) on Wednesday in Minneapolis-St. Paul area, had escalated into obstructing Border Patrol agents trying to perform mundane tasks, including using the restroom.
While agents were taking restroom breaks at gas stations, “hostile crowds” reportedly “repeatedly harassed and obstructed” them, according to DHS.
“At every gas station where agents stopped to use the restroom, agitating groups appeared, yelled at them, followed them, and even attempted to prevent law enforcement vehicles from leaving, creating unsafe conditions,” DHS said. he said. Publish on X.
“At one stop, people in the crowd threw food at agents. At the last gas station stop, someone spat on an agent,” the ministry added. “When an agent moved to detain the person who spat at him, the crowd surrounded the agents and attacked them.”

The department said agents were forced to use crowd control measures to disperse the agitators.
This post comes just ahead of Vice President JD Vance’s visit to Minneapolis. He is expected to meet with local leaders and make statements focused on restoring law and order in Minnesota.
Tensions between federal immigration enforcement and agitators in Minnesota have escalated in recent weeks since the fatal shooting of 37-year-old Renee Good on Jan. 7. The incident sparked protests and controversy between Minnesota leadership and the federal government.

The president also addressed the anti-ICE chaos in Minnesota, accusing those demonstrating of being “paid agitators and rioters.” He emphasized that federal immigration enforcement officials are doing a “dangerous job.”
“They are all criminals, illegal aliens, and in many cases murderers, drug lords, drug dealers, mentally ill people. Some are ruthless killers. They are mentally crazy. “They’re murderers, but they’re crazy,” Trump said, holding up mugshots of various detainees.
