Key challenges related to traffic management, road safety and infrastructure development across Cyberabad were reviewed in the traffic review meeting held at Cyberabad commission’s Public Safety Integrated Operations Center on Wednesday, January 21, 2026.

The meeting focused on determining long-term and immediate solutions to traffic congestion, especially in high-density and fast-growing regions. Officials discussed the need to improve intersection management through identifying and correcting accident-prone black spots and closer coordination between traffic personnel and engineering agencies.

Siberabad Commissioner M. Ramesh, who chaired the meeting, paid special attention to easing congestion on the Outer Ring Road and IT corridor, where movement of employees during peak hours continues to strain the existing road infrastructure. Discussions included a hybrid approach combining automated systems and manual regulation to manage traffic at busy intersections, as well as measures to ease vehicle flow during peak hours.

Infrastructure-related issues such as the construction of underpasses, overpasses and pedestrian overpasses, road widening works and the creation of free left turn lanes were also reviewed. At the meeting, the importance of pedestrian safety was emphasized through the development of pedestrian paths, overpasses, service roads and special lanes to provide safer transportation options.

Officials also took stock of recurring waterlogging problems on major roads and reviewed the progress of drainage repairs and road restoration work. Steps to strengthen traffic surveillance and control, including installation of CCTV cameras, repair of existing traffic signals, installation of new signals, guardrails and variable message signs were discussed in detail.
