REVEALED: The very unglamorous £53-a-night airport hotel where The Traitors stars REALLY sleep – and it’s not the castle

The very no-frills £53-a-night airport hotel where The Traitors stars actually sleep has been revealed – and it’s not Ardross Castle.
The popular BBC series The Traitors is filmed at the opulent, gothic Ardross Castle, a striking 19th-century Scottish Baronial mansion in the Scottish Highlands.
However, fans may be disappointed to learn that the contestants did not actually spend the night at the castle.
Instead, after each day of filming, the stars are driven by 4x4s to a nearby airport hotel, about 40 minutes away.
During the day, the castle is used for breakfast scenes, post-mission lunches, tactical discussions, and the famous round table shootouts.
However, when the shooting is over, the contestants leave one by one and return to their accommodation alone.

The popular BBC series The Traitors was filmed at the opulent, gothic Ardross Castle, a striking 19th-century Scottish Baronial mansion in the Scottish Highlands.
The actors reportedly stayed at the Courtyard by Marriott Inverness Airport during their time on the show, where rooms cost as little as £53 per person per night.
The four-star hotel is located right next to the airport runway and is used for purely practical reasons rather than luxury.
Hotel amenities include a restaurant, fitness center, meeting spaces, convenience store and business center.
Traitors’ US presenter Alan Cumming, 60, had previously mocked the accommodation.
Speaking to the Daily Beast, he said: ‘They all stayed at the airport hotel at Inverness airport. How magnificent; You come to Scotland and stay at the Inverness airport hotel.’
But former Celebrity Traitors contestant Jonathan Ross, 65, previously insisted he had no complaints about the accommodation.
Responding to a post on X, formerly known as Twitter, he wrote: ‘Very nice hotel and good food. ‘I have no complaints.’
The official Traitors X account simply replied: ‘Good to know.’

Jonathan also revealed whether the Traitors returned to the castle in the evening to meet at the tower.
He confirmed: ‘No. We’ll wait there until all the Loyalists are gone.’
Accordingly MirrorThe BBC’s choice of accommodation comes down to practicality, as the hotel is large enough to accommodate both contestants and production staff.
The publication also reported that the setup allowed producers to keep the actors separate and track them while the camera was off.
Host Claudia Winkleman, 54, explained that the contestants were taken directly to their rooms after filming and were not allowed to interact with each other or anyone outside the game.
The Daily Mail has contacted the BBC for comment.
The news comes after The Traitors fans were left in disbelief after the Loyalists failed to realize Rachel Duffy had “revealed herself” as a Traitor.
Host Claudia cast Rachel as the Traitor in episode one, along with Stephen Libby and Hugo Lodge.

By now exiled, Fiona and Harriet accused Rachel of being a traitor; but viewers now believe the actors missed another obvious sign.
In the seventh episode, Rachel told her fellow contestants at the roundtable how she spent the last few months being trained by a former FBI agent.
Specifically, this includes microexpressions as well as their ability to detect people’s ability to lie.
At breakfast in episode nine, Rachel claimed to have figured out the identity of a Traitor, but did not reveal who it was until a roundtable that evening.
The other players seemed to take him seriously as well, and joined in banishing Ellie Buckley, who revealed him to be the Loyalist.
Writing on social media, one fan wrote: ‘I still can’t get over the fact that they didn’t pile on Rachel’s ‘I have something to share at the roundtable based on someone’s mistake last night’ gambit last week.’
Another added: ‘They’re forgetting Rachel’s ‘I have something to explain later at the round table’ incident that led to loyal Ellie being exiled.’
A third said: ‘Surely this should arouse Rachel’s suspicion!
‘There’s a bitter feud between Fiona and Harriet and while I then brought up Ellie out of the blue there wasn’t much talk about her and she ended up being faithful, let’s stop ignoring the signs.’
A fourth commented: ‘#TheTraitors how does no one suspect Rachel for being so harsh on Ellie?
‘Why don’t they release information about his C**p FBI training? Why don’t they see how wrong he is in getting their votes but claim to be an expert?’
