A Nevada judge announced his retirement Thursday, just days after the court granted a protective order to a lawyer he had been pursuing for more than a year.

According to court documents, Washoe County Judge Bridget Robb, 63, allegedly followed Gaming and Administrative Law attorney Kelci Binau to different locations, including residences and businesses around Reno, News 4 reported.

The documents describe dozens of alleged encounters and suggest there may be hundreds of similar incidents.

The lawyer alleges that between May 2024 and the issuance of the temporary protection order last week, Robb engaged in a “deliberate, repeated and patterned” pattern of behavior that caused fear, intimidation and concern for personal safety.

A hearing is scheduled for Feb. 13 to determine whether the protective order will be extended.

Binau said his behavior continued despite repeated requests for him to stop, eventually leading him to seek help from law enforcement.

After the decision was issued, Chief District Judge Egan Walker temporarily suspended Robb from all cases and committee duties, and a court spokesperson told News 4 the Second Judicial District Court is conducting an internal investigation.

Robb later announced his retirement on Thursday, saying it was “in the best interest of the court, my family and the community.” The judge also said he was withdrawing his candidacy for Second Judicial District Court, Division 10.

Robb said in a statement to The Nevada Independent: “After careful consideration, I have decided to retire from my position as a judge. I believe that stepping away from my judicial position at this time and choosing to do so is in the best interest of the court, my family, and the community. I expect respect and understanding from everyone involved in this transition.” he said.

He was up for re-election to the Department 13 family court seat but instead chose to run against District Judge Kathleen Sigurdson in Department 10.

The judge served on the bench for nearly two decades following his appointment in 2006 by then-Gov. Kenny Guinn.

The Reno Police Department launched an investigation into the judge last year and observed a gym Binau frequented. According to court documents, detectives spotted Robb wandering around the mall where the gym is located while Binau was working out, News 4 reported.

Earlier this month, police pulled Robb over after seeing him wandering the area. Detectives followed him to his home and interviewed him. Binau claims Robb admitted to stalking during the interview, which was recorded on detectives’ body cameras.

Robb claimed he was “gathering information” during his routine trips and described his actions as a coping mechanism linked to his previous personal relationship.
