Mystery in Davos: Visible bruising on president Trump’s left hand sparks health watch | World News

While many major policy announcements were made during the World Economic Forum, the unexpected focal point was the clearly visible blue-black mark on President Donald Trump’s left hand. The dark purple discoloration, clearly visible during the “Peace Board” signing ceremony, led people to immediately make assumptions about the health of the 79-year-old world leader.
Incident: Collision at the signing table
The mysterious incident began when the camera took a photo showing the back of the President’s deeply bruised hand. Trump, who was trying to alleviate the entire health problem while traveling to the Camp David summit with Air Force One, explained the bruise as a minor accident.

“I’m perfectly fine. I smashed it on the table,” Trump told reporters. “I put some -what do you call it – cream on it. I just smashed it.”
White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt also confirmed this report, saying, “While signing a globe during the Davos event, the President’s hand hit the corner of the signing table.” To reduce speculation about what happened to his hand, White House officials showed photos of the President taken in the early hours of the morning, with no signs on his hand to prove that the injury occurred instantly.
Aspirin connection: ‘Heavy dose’ strategy
President Trump noted a second factor that contributed to the severity of the bruising: the habit of regularly taking large amounts of aspirin. The President stated that he was taking a dose of 325 mg four times a day; that was exactly twice the 81 mg dose of the regular heart-helping “baby aspirin.”
“If you love your heart, take aspirin. But if you don’t want a little blue mark, don’t take aspirin,” Trump said. “I’m getting the big one. They say when you get the big one you get the blue marks.”
Medical guidelines strongly recommend that people aged 60 and over use aspirin under close supervision, despite the increased risk of bleeding.
Trump acknowledged that his own medical team recommended against the high dose, but he chose to ignore them. “The doctors said to me, ‘You don’t need to take this, sir. You are very healthy.’ I said, ‘I don’t want to take risks. I don’t want to have dark blood in my heart.'”
History of secret signs
This isn’t the first time the President’s hands have come under scrutiny; because marks, bandages, or make-up were used to cover skin that had become discolored from other blows. Blood thinners such as aspirin can make the skin more fragile and cause large black-blue scars to appear from even the smallest bumps.
Although the President is in good health, according to the White House, his admission that he self-prescribed high doses of medication against the advice of his doctors will certainly spark a debate about his health routine.
