Former Bachelorette Emily Maynard celebrates becoming grandmother

Former “Bachelorette” star Emily Maynard is celebrating a major milestone in her life.

The 39-year-old reality star is now a grandmother after her daughter Josephine “Ricki” Hendrick announced she gave birth to her first child on Friday.

Hendrick shared the announcement about him instagramIt featured a photo of her looking after her baby after a C-section and a photo of Maynard and her husband, Tyler Johnson, holding the baby in the hospital.

“Best day ever.” she captioned the post.

Hendrick announced her pregnancy in August by sharing an ultrasound video on her Instagram stories. She later changed her Instagram bio to “First person to get pregnant at 20” and now reads “Romin mom.”

Maynard first won the heart of Bachelor Nation when she competed for Brad Womack’s heart on the 15th season of “The Bachelor” and finished the season as the runner-up. She was later cast as the leading lady of the eighth season of “The Bachelorette” in 2012, ending the season engaged to Jef Holm, but their engagement ended soon after.

“I always say I shouldn’t give anyone a ‘Bachelorette’ and ‘Bachelorette’ tip because it was kind of a train wreck, to be honest — my time on the show was kind of a mixed bag,” Maynard told “Good Morning America” ​​in January 2017.

He later added that the advice he would give to those participating in the program was to “just have fun.”

When Maynard was 18, her fiancé, NASCAR driver Ricky Hendrick, died in a plane crash. She later found out that she was pregnant with his child.

“The first few years were very difficult,” Maynard told People in December 2020 about her life as a single mother following the death of her fiancee. “I didn’t know if I was coming or going. I was lost. I went to therapists, but I knew nothing they could tell me would make me feel better. Mine was a heart issue that I had to figure out on my own. And I knew time would do that.”

Maynard found love with Johnson after meeting him at church and began dating in January 2013 following his split from Holm.

The two got engaged a year later in January 2014 and married in June of the same year. Since their marriage, the duo has had five children together: Jennings (10), Gibson (9), Gatlin (8), Magnolia (5) and Jones (2).
