Andhra Beat Vidarbha by Eight Wickets in Ranji Trophy

Anantapur: Andhra registered a convincing eight-wicket victory against Vidarbha in the BCCI Ranji Trophy match at the Anantapur Cricket Ground on Sunday.

With this win, Andhra topped Group A of Ranji Trophy. Chasing the target of 259 on the 4th day, the home team put on a dominant batting display to seal an emphatic victory.

Andhra, whose overnight score was 93 for 1, advanced to the target with ease. Shaik Rasheed played an unbeaten knock, scoring 132 off 144 balls, displaying elegant strokeplay all over the field. Skipper Ricky Bhui provided solid support by being not out for 64 off 92 balls.

The concluding session was attended by Satya Sai district SP Sateesh Kumar as the chief guest.
