ICE killings in Minneapolis are ‘appalling’ and actions of Trump’s agents are ‘getting out of hand’ says former home secretary after latest protester shooting

Donald Trump’s ICE is carrying out ‘horrible’ killings in Minneapolis, a senior Tory said today after another unarmed protester was shot dead by masked thugs.
Shadow foreign secretary Priti Patel said US Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents were ‘out of control’ after a nurse was shot multiple times while covering a protest.
He spoke after newly released high-definition video revealed that 37-year-old US citizen Alex Pretti was disarmed and restrained moments before he was shot multiple times on a city street.
Footage was stabilized and slowed down to capture the final seconds before the gunfire erupted. It was reviewed frame by frame by the Daily Mail and local journalists in Minneapolis.
The findings appear to contradict the Department of Homeland Security’s claims that Pretti was ‘brandishing’ a gun or posing an immediate threat to officers.
The Minnesota city has been rocked by protests in recent weeks after ICE began conducting mass raids.
Earlier this month, 37-year-old mother of three Renee Nicole Good was shot and killed by federal officers as she sat in her car.
Asked about ICE’s activities, Ms Patel, the former Home Secretary for policing the UK, said: ‘What we are seeing is appalling, absolutely appalling; there is no doubt about it.
‘We don’t know all the details of this or the operational powers or anything like that, but it looks like it’s getting out of control and you can see the frankly horrific photos taken by another American citizen.

Pretti, 37, was an intensive care unit nurse and worked for the Department of Veterans Affairs. She worked as a research scientist before returning to school to become a nurse.
Pretti is seen being held on the pavement while multiple federal agents surround him.

‘Necessary research and investigations will need to be carried out on this issue. However, when it comes to policing, this again shows that there is a complete contrast between our two countries.
‘We do policing in this country by consent, our police officers do not carry firearms, of course, trained expert police officers carry firearms in this country. But what we see is so alarming.
‘The new video has intensified scrutiny of DHS allegations that officers opened ‘defensive fire’ after Pretti ‘approached’ them with a gun and violently resisted.
Instead, the footage shows federal agents already holding Pretti to the ground with his firearm removed, moments before another agent shot him.
In addition to the investigation, a doctor who witnessed the incident from his nearby apartment said in an affidavit that federal agents delayed the delivery of life-saving aid.
The unidentified pediatrician claimed that agents were “counting gunshot wounds” rather than performing CPR when Pretti was critically injured.
