Netflix fans were blown away by a ‘dynamic and exciting’ period drama that has been described as a ‘must watch’, featuring pirates, love triangles and plenty of action.
Sandokan, an eight-episode television series based on Emilio Salgari’s Sandokan novels, premiered on Italian channel Rai 1 in December last year.
Recently landed on Netflix and check it out MetroIt’s already in the top 10.
The publisher’s synopsis reads: ‘Pirate captain Sandokan and his crew fight to protect the Dayak people from the clutches of the British Empire in 19th-century Southeast Asia.’
Lead actor Can Yaman plays Sandokan, where the pirate hero and his crew sail in the South China Sea.
Turkish star Can (36) is accompanied by Italian actor Alessandro Preziosi, 52, in the role of Yanez.
The eight-episode television series Sandokan recently appeared on Netflix after first airing last year.
The popular pirate drama series is adapted from Emilio Salgari’s Sandokan novels and stars Can Yaman in the leading role.
Gossip Girl star Ed Westwick, 38, plays Lord James Brooke, a pirate hunter on the hunt for Sandokan.
Brooke is also pursuing the love of Marianne (Alanah Bloor), who has a crush on Sandokan.
Meanwhile, Race Around the World narrator John Hannah, 63, plays the role of Sergeant Murray in this series.

Netflix’s new murder mystery Seven Dials has skyrocketed up the charts, but fans had one major complaint.
Adapted from Agatha Christie’s 1929 novel of the same name, the film follows Lady Eileen ‘Bundle’ Brent (Mia McKenna-Bruce) as she investigates a murder committed in a country house in the 1920s.
Joined by Scotland Yard’s Inspector Battle (Martin Freeman), these sleuths uncover dark secrets connected to the elusive Seven Dials society of death.
The cast also includes Helena Bonham Carter as Bundle’s mother, Lady Chaterham.
