Two men have tragically lost their lives and a woman has been hospitalized following a swimming incident in an Australian river.
Emergency services rushed to John Locke Place in Gleniffer, approximately 530 kilometers north of Sydney, at 6.45pm on Sunday, January 25. Reports showed that the trio, in their 30s, struggled while swimming in the Never Never River. mirror reports.
A New South Wales Ambulance spokesman said crews responded to reports that three people were “submerged”.
The woman was rescued from the water and immediately treated at the scene, before being transported to hospital in serious condition, the Daily Mail reported.
Two people who were taken out of the water could not be saved despite all efforts and died at the scene.
Never Never River is a preferred place for swimming. It is common for tourists to camp on the river banks and enjoy a dip in the water.
