Wife of passenger killed in fatal train crash says they’ve been ‘robbed’ of future together

A Fatal Accident Investigation (FAI) has begun into the tragic train derailment nearby. Stone Heaven incident in which three people lost their lives.
Families of the victims said that their loved ones’ futures were “stolen” as the hearings began. Aberdeen Sheriff Court on Monday.
Train driver Brett McCullough, 45, died in the incident that occurred in Carmont on August 12, 2020; chef Donald Dinnie, 58; and passenger Christopher Stuchbury, 62.
6 more people were injured in the terrible incident.
Crown counsel to the inquiry, Alex Prentice KC, read family tributes as the FAI began.

He read portions of a statement from Mr Stuchbury’s wife, Diane Stuchbury, who told the court that her husband died on their anniversary.
Her statement was: “Every day I spent with Chris was a gift.
“The most loving, kind, wise and loyal man you could ever want to meet.
“August 12 was a special day in our house: the day we got married.”
Mrs Stuchbury said the crash which claimed her husband’s life “should never have happened”, adding that “their future together as a couple was robbed”.
Mr Dinnie’s family said in a statement: “He was loved and adored by all his family and friends.
“He will be missed forever.”
