Sen. John Fetterman, D-Pa., called on President Donald Trump to fire Department of Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem.
In a post on X on Tuesday, the Democratic senator from Pennsylvania accused Noem of “betraying” the department’s central mission.
Tagging @POTUS and @realDonaldTrump accounts in X, Fetterman declared“I am directly calling for @Sec_Noem to be fired immediately.”

“Americans are dead. He is betraying the core mission of DHS and throwing away your legacy of border security. Do NOT allow President Biden to make the mistake of not firing a deeply incompetent DHS Secretary,” the senator warned.

Unlike other Democratic senators, Fetterman generally takes a more pragmatic stance against Trump and the GOP on issues like immigration and border security. In recent weeks, Fetterman had encouraged his party to avoid calls to abolish U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).
