Rs 23.44 Crore Road Works Launched to Improve Tribal Connectivity in Kurupam

Visakhapatnam: Kurupam MLA and Government Whip Toyaka Jagadeeswari, along with Parvathipuram Manyam district collector Dr N. Prabhakara Reddy, laid the foundation stone of a series of road projects aimed at improving connectivity in remote tribal areas in Komarada mandal on Wednesday.
Speaking on the occasion, the collector said that the district administration has given priority to strengthening the transport infrastructure in tribal settlements, which have been suffering from connectivity problems for decades. As part of the initiative, 60 bitumen roads will be constructed in 11 villages in Komarada mandal at an estimated cost of ₹ 23.44 crore.
Prabhakara Reddy said significant funds have been allocated under the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MGNREGA) to improve basic infrastructure in the mandal. He expressed confidence that the new roads will significantly facilitate travel for tribal residents and provide quicker access to healthcare facilities in case of emergency.
Local villagers welcomed the initiative and thanked MLA Jagadeeswari for facilitating the long-awaited road works. The Collector said the projects are a major step towards integrating remote tribal villages into mainstream development and improving access to basic services.
