SFI opposes RSS centenary celebrations at SPA

The Andhra Pradesh State committee of the Students Federation of India (SFI) has strongly opposed the use of the School of Planning and Architecture (SPA) in Vijayawada as the venue for the centenary celebrations of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS).
In a statement on Wednesday, SFI State President P. Rammohan Rao and State Secretary K. Prasanna Kumar said such programs violate constitutional and secular values. They objected to “allowing the activity of a social organization within the educational institution” and said that this was unacceptable. They demanded the immediate cancellation of the RSS event, which started on Wednesday in SPA and will continue until January 30.
The leaders alleged that the SPA management granted permission for the event without consulting the students and abruptly postponed the field visits in advance, deviating from the 2025-26 academic calendar.
