Security forces re-establish contact with terrorists in J&K’s Kishtwar, operation underway

Security forces re-established contact with terrorists hiding in Jammu’s Dolgam district and Kashmir’s Kishtwar district in the early hours of Saturday, January 31, 2026, officials said.
The military said intelligence input from all sources was coordinated to plan and execute the operation.

This is the fourth time contact has been made with terrorists in the region in the last two weeks.
Northern Army Commander Lieutenant General Pratik Sharma visited Kishtwar to review the counter-terrorism network as the ongoing counter-terrorism operation to neutralize a group of three Jaish-e-Mohammad terrorists hiding in the area continues.
Mobile internet services have been temporarily suspended within a six-kilometer radius covering Singhpora, Chingam and Chatroo to prevent misuse by anti-national elements during the ongoing operation, officials said.
