Live fire drills and potential rape
On Thursday, January 29, 2026, Iranian officials issued a radio warning about “naval shooting” exercises planned for Sunday and Monday. Navigation coordinates indicate the exercise may fall into Traffic Separation Pattern. This is the international maritime corridor used by commercial tankers entering and exiting the Persian Gulf.

The US military’s Central Command (CENTCOM), which manages the Bahrain-based 5th Fleet, responded on Saturday with a dire warning to Tehran. While CENTCOM acknowledged Iran’s right to operate in international waters, it also made clear that it would not accept “unsafe and unprofessional behavior.”
A CENTCOM spokesman said unsafe actions increase the risk of conflict, tension and destabilization. They added that the US military remains the most lethal force in the world.
Tension escalates after domestic unrest
