EAM Jaishankar Meets Marco Rubio in Washington

New York: External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar met US Secretary of State Marco Rubio in Washington on Tuesday ahead of a ministerial meeting on critical minerals. Rubio welcomed Jaishankar to the State Department on Tuesday afternoon.

Jaishankar will visit the US from February 2-4 and will attend the Critical Minerals Ministerial Meeting convened by Rubio on Wednesday.

The Ministry of External Affairs said that during the visit, Jaishankar will also hold talks with senior members of the US administration.

The meeting between Jaishankar and Rubio took place a day after Trump announced on Truth Social that India and the US had agreed to a trade deal under which Washington would reduce reciprocal tariffs on Delhi from 25 percent to 18 percent.
