IDF supplier Bisalloy Steel targeted by Herzog protesters
Wollongong Friends of Palestine are organizing a 48-hour community strike at the gates of Bisalloy Steel’s Unanderra factory to protest a visit by Israeli president Isaac Herzog.
The action aims to stop Bisalloy’s production for eight consecutive shifts from 20:00 on Sunday, February 8.
Safaa Rayaan from Wollongong Friends of Palestine said::
“Perhaps after the ceasefire announcement, Bisalloy Steel hoped that they could quietly continue to profit from sales of armored steel to Israel. But people can see that our actions to end the genocide and occupation are still desperately needed. That is why we continue our strike.”
Malcolm Turnbull-backed Bisalloy Steel is Australia’s only manufacturer of quenched and tempered steel plates suitable for armor applications. Company defended It has long-standing business relationships with Israeli arms manufacturers such as Rafael Advanced Defense Systems and Plasan Re’em.
