Revanth Reddy Lists Welfare Achievements at Gudur Public Meeting

Nalgonda: Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy on Tuesday appealed to people to evaluate the developments made in Telangana and decide in the upcoming municipal elections. He was addressing the Praja Palana-Praja Vijayotsava Sabha after laying the foundation stone of Young India Residential School at Gudur in Miryalaguda mandal.

The Prime Minister said that earlier people had to wait for nearly a decade to get ration cards, while the current government has provided six kilograms of quality rice per capita to 3.17 crore beneficiaries. He appealed to the beneficiaries of the quality rice program to support the Congress party in the municipal elections. Claiming that Miryalaguda was among Asia’s leading paddy producing districts, he maintained that the Congress had no real competition in the local polls.

Revanth Reddy said free RTC bus travel was provided to women, including those who contested elections on BRS tickets, and alleged that the government showed no discrimination in the implementation of welfare programmes. He said ₹21,000 crore was spent on farm loan waiver benefiting 25.35 lakh farmers, while farmers were also provided minimum support price along with ₹500 bonus. Under Rythu Bharosa, ₹9,000 crore had been distributed, including ₹6,000 per farmer, and the remaining funds would be released after the municipal elections.

Stating that the state has spent ₹ 1.10 lakh crore (the highest amount in the country) for the welfare of farmers, the Prime Minister said the government will provide houses to lakhs of poor families in the new budget to be presented in April and take the responsibility of improving the self-esteem of the poor.

Targeting BRS, Revanth Reddy alleged that the SLBC project was canceled due to hostility towards Nalgonda district, forcing people to consume fluoride contaminated water. He said the SLBC work has been revived with the aim of completing it within two years. The Chief Minister also criticized former CM K. Chandrashekar Rao and stated that the police reports were presented as an insult to the Telangana community.
