According to NDTV, preliminary information indicates that a young man armed with a knife entered the dormitory of the Bashkir State Medical University in Ufa and attacked the students living there. The Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs also confirmed the incident.

According to RTVI.com, Interior Ministry spokesperson Major General Irina Volk said: “The attacker resisted arrest while two police officers were stabbed. The suspect also caused bodily harm to himself.”

Authorities have not officially released the identities or nationalities of all the injured students. However, Telegram channel 112, citing eyewitnesses, reported that at least one of the victims was Indian and claimed that there may have been two attackers.

The Investigation Committee launched an investigation into the incident.

The attacker, identified as a 15-year-old, was taken to a local children’s hospital in serious condition. Four students and two injured police officers are receiving treatment at a local clinical hospital, Baza Telegram channel reported.

Eyewitnesses described chaotic scenes following the attack. According to Ren TV, which broadcast images showing the injured being taken to hospital in ambulances, an eyewitness said, “There was blood everywhere.”
