Meghan Markle moved away from her minimalist fashion style at her latest red carpet event.
The Duchess of Sussex, 44, channeled ‘Old Hollywood’ glam as she took to the stage alone at the Fifteen Percent Pledge fundraising gala in Los Angeles on Saturday night.
Paying tribute to the organization’s mission of supporting black-owned brands and businesses, Meghan wore a custom-made Charles Harbison strapless dress and cape worth approximately $9,000.

Founder Amie Satchu documented Meghan’s look on the California estate jewelry brand’s Instagram page on Sunday.
One of the carousel posts featured photos of the Duchess at the gala, with the headline: ‘Meghan Markle steals the spotlight at the Fifteen Pecent Pledge Gala, channeling the undying glamor of Old Hollywood.’
The brand also released a video showing Meghan’s best red carpet moments from the event, praising her ‘incredibly elegant’ look.

While the outfit received mixed reviews online, the Duchess’ choice of jewelery was widely praised, with fans noticing her ‘perfect’ vintage accessories sourced from a Beverly Hills-based atelier.
Meghan, who attended the event without her husband Prince Harry, opted for a $4,195 (about £3,100) floor-length pink dress from Charles Harbison’s eponymous brand.
She paired it with Harbison Studio’s $4,495 ‘Galaxy’ cape with long trails and dramatic puff sleeves.
She completed her look with onyx accessories, which are ‘a study of controlled elegance and intention’, according to jewelery expert Nilesh Rakholia.
Mr Rakholia, Abelini’s founder, praised Meghan’s decision to wear pieces that ‘fit the purpose of the evening’ rather than creating a ‘spectacle’ on the red carpet.
She told the Daily Mail: ‘Meghan’s jewelery style reflects a wider shift we’re seeing at purpose-driven events: luxury is expressed through elegance, not excess.
‘The pieces are elegant, deliberate and quietly confident; It proves that sometimes the most powerful statement jewelry can make is knowing when to step back.’
The founder of the New York-based luxury womenswear brand is a favorite of stars including Beyonce and Mindy Kaling, as well as Olympic gymnast Simone Biles, who appeared on Meghan’s Netflix show.
Meghan looked comfortable, drenched in jewelry, at the gala, where Beyonce’s mother, Tina Knowles, was honored for her leadership, advocacy and commitment to empowering Black communities and creators.
The Fifteen Percent Commitment is a foundation focused on creating sustainable, thriving networks where black-owned businesses can thrive.
Founded by Canadian creative director Aurora James, the charity works with businesses to support and advance equality.
The charity’s name is a nod to ‘black people, who make up 15 percent of the US population’.
Hosted by CNN news anchor Abby Phillip, the premiere is part of the 15th Street Block Party Weekend at Paramount Studios.

A closer look at Meghan’s statement ring
Meghan joined British fashion entrepreneur Emma Grede as well as celebrities including Winnie Harlow, Chloe Bailey and Zendaya’s stylist Law Roach at the high-profile event on Saturday.
Charles Harbison, the designer behind Meghan’s couture dress, was also present at the premiere and shared his Instagram story of him and the Duchess embracing and holding hands at the premiere.
The clip is titled: ‘Me and the duchess from @harbison.studio.’
The event follows the charity’s fourth annual gala last weekend, which was attended by the likes of Kelly Rowland and Kim Kardashian.
This comes after Meghan recently revealed her Valentine’s Day surprise for husband Prince Harry.
A clip posted on Instagram documented Meghan walking up to a beaming Prince Harry, who was busy working at a desk in his home office with an assortment of chocolates from his lifestyle brand As Ever.
In the short video, Meghan approaches Harry and hands him the chocolate; The Prince says ‘Oh’ to this, then changes his response to ‘Oooh’ and chooses a bar.
He then says ‘I love you’ with a cheeky smile still on his face.
The chocolate bars, which sold out within minutes of their initial launch, use “special ingredients” from Meghan’s As Ever brand, such as raspberry butter and floral sprinkles, to “ignite a little sweet nostalgia”.
Meghan also gave fans a look at the “man cave” at Harry’s Montecito home; There was a model helicopter, a poster saying “Dad” and the prince’s military badges.
