Grieving daughter of Amy Winehouse love rival pays tribute to ‘beautiful mother’ after ‘unexplained’ death aged 47

The grieving daughter of a woman once caught in a love triangle with singer Amy Winehouse has paid a heartbreaking tribute to her ‘beautiful mum’ and said life without her would be ‘so boring’.

Sarah Aspin, 47, who was in a relationship with Winehouse’s ex-husband Blake Fielder-Civil, was found dead in her modest council house in Leeds, West Yorks.

His death on Saturday morning is being treated as ‘unexplained’ by detectives.

When Ms Aspin met Fielder-Civil in 2011, she was already a mother of two following the end of her tumultuous marriage to the Back To Black star, who died that year.

The couple had two children before they reportedly separated in 2018.

Following the tragedy, her eldest daughter shed tears for her mother on social media.

Miss Aspin’s body was found in her ground-floor maisonette in the Swillington area of ​​Leeds at around 8am after police were called to a report of a ‘safety concern’.

Medical teams intervened at the scene, but it was determined that he died a short time later.

A man who was on the property was taken into custody for a crime unrelated to her death.

Police and forensic officers stayed at the address until Sunday evening, while flowers were then left in front of the front door as a memorial.

A neighbor who did not want to give his name said: ‘I was passing by the flat around 8 in the morning on Saturday.

‘That’s when I saw the police surrounding the property and thought to myself something was wrong.

‘Sarah lived alone in that house but a man who I believed was her partner was often around.

‘They didn’t put cords or tape or anything. It was like they were searching the house. ‘It’s not clear what happened, but it’s tragic.’

Ms Aspin first met Fielder-Civil in 2009, while he was in rehab, and continued his on-and-off relationship with Winehouse into 2010.

The couple welcomed their son Jack in May 2011 and their daughter Lola-Rose in April 2013, but their relationship was overshadowed by Jack’s complicated love life.

Miss Aspin even warned Amy to ‘keep her hands off’ her boyfriend, warning her: ‘He’s mine and we’re family now.’

Miss Aspin’s cousin Leanne Eastwood wrote on social media: ‘Sweet dreams to my beautiful cousin Sarah Aspin. I hope you finally found peace. Until we meet again. ‘It’s been gutted.’

Several other neighbors also confirmed they saw emergency services at the apartment before leaving in the evening over the weekend.

One said: ‘It’s sad what happened. It shook up the community, it’s a beautiful, quiet area. We have many elderly residents and young families.

‘We are all friendly, we feel safe living here. It’s not a common sight to see police like this.’

A West Yorkshire Police spokesman said: ‘Police are continuing to investigate following the death of a woman at a property in the Swillington area of ​​Leeds.

‘Officers were called to an address on Primrose Hill Drive at 6.38am on Saturday, February 7, following concerns about a security report.

‘Medical teams intervened in the woman at the scene, but she died a short time later. ‘His death is currently treated as an unexplained incident.’

Ms Aspin has previously spoken about the emotional impact of Fielder-Civil remaining behind bars at HMP Armley in Leeds after Amy’s death in July 2011.

He said at the time, after visiting the prison: ‘It is devastated and shattered. He cannot accept the fact that she is dead and that he will never see her again.

‘Blake called me on Saturday after prison officials told me he had died.

‘I couldn’t console him. He was in complete shock.

‘Blake is our son’s father. But I have seen him and Amy together and I know that they are truly in love and soul mates.

‘He always loved her and she always loved him; but that would never work.

‘They couldn’t actually live with each other, and they couldn’t live without each other.

‘It’s hard for me to know that you still love him, but I understand your feelings.’

Sarah added: ‘I think Amy couldn’t get over the fact that Blake and I had our son Jack. I think it hit him pretty hard.

‘Despite all her problems, she would have been a great mother. What happened is very tragic; ‘It’s a complete waste.’

Fielder-Civil had a whirlwind romance with Amy when they met in 2005.

Amy wrote hit singles You Know I’m No Good and Back To Black about their tumultuous relationship and divorce in 2009.
