Shubhanshu Shukla’s Return To Earth Delayed; Axiom-4 Crew To Stay On ISS Till July 14

The return of the Axiom-4 mission (AX4) team, including Indian Astronaut group captain Shubhanshu Shukla and three other members, was delayed at least four days. The crew would initially begin his return journey on July 10th.

According to Axiom Space, the crew is scheduled to get out of the space station on Monday at 7:05 (about 16:30 IST).

The Axiom Mission 4 was released on June 25 at the Launch Complex 39a at the Kennedy Space Center in Florida, NASA at the Spacex Falcon 9 rocket. The Dragon spacecraft was successfully connected to the port of the station’s harmony module, which was successfully with IST at 16:05 on June 26th.

According to Axiom Space’s mission blog on Tuesday, the Axiom Mission 4 crew has carried out a wide range of research activities aimed at progressing scientific studies, testing new technologies, and ongoing global social assistance efforts in space research. On Tuesday, the crew focused on research in micro gravity. Group captain Shubhanshu Shukla conducted three experiments starting with the Filiz project, which examines how micro gravity affects germination and early plant development. After returning to the world, the seeds will be grown for several generations to examine the changes in genetic, microbial ecosystems and food profiles.

In another experiment, shukla distributed and stacked the microlags examined for the potential of producing biofuel, even food, oxygen and even biofuel. According to Axiom Space’s blog, the flexibility and versatility of microalgies make them ideal for supporting human life in long -term tasks.
