Trump threatens blistering 35% tariff on Canada blaming 1 alarming reason | World | News

Donald Trump said that he will apply 35% tariffs to Canadian goods as of August 1st. The announcement was published on the social, accusing Fentanil on the truth, and said that if Canada retaliates, it would increase.

“Canada is working with me to stop the flow of fentanyl, perhaps we will consider adjusting this letter,” Trump wrote. President Trump previously accused Mexico, as well as to allow Fentanyl to come to the United States.

In his response to X, Carney said that Canada has made basic progress in North America to “stop the scourge of Fentanil” and that his government has committed to continue working with the United States to protect communities in both countries.

The US Customs and Border Patrol data show that only 0.2% of Fentanil’s seizures entering the United States were made on the Canadian border and the rest were confiscated on the US border with Mexico.
