‘I quit Reform UK after row with Nigel Farage’ | Politics | News

In the latest episode of the Daily Expresso, Advance UK leader Ben Habib reveals his bitter feud with Nigel Farage, what the Reform UK leader is really like behind the scenes and the future of the British right. Speaking to host JJ Anisiobi, Habib explains why he left Reform after resigning as Deputy Leader on 28 November 2024 following a major falling out with party leader Nigel Farage and President Zia Yusuf.
In June 2025, he founded a new political party, Advance UK, which was officially registered with the Electoral Commission on 4 December 2025. On leaving Reformation, he said: “Reform had great promise. It started as a grassroots movement advocating the voice of British patriots who wanted to make the case for an independent United Kingdom, who wanted to re-erect our borders, create policies in the national interest etc. It was formed from the Brexit party.”
He added: “But then things changed dramatically when Nigel Farage came back. “Farage’s personality is entirely consistent with the picture I painted of the early days of Reformation.
“Farage’s reality is quite different. I don’t want to go into too much detail. I think viewers probably know my views on Farage by now, but Farage is an extraordinary campaigner, a great political tactician, but he doesn’t have what I would call a political philosophy.”
“The fact that he’s pro-British and wears Union Flag socks and all that is essentially a false persona. He’ll turn one way or another depending on where he feels he needs to go to maximize his own personal promotion and the political position he wants to take.”

He claimed that Reformation had become a philosophically incoherent and politically immature “Conservative 2.0”, adopting the policies of the Conservatives and some liberal views.
He added: “They are hiding themselves under the Union banner but yet it is outside the agenda. So this needs to be exposed. As leader of Advanced UK, a party I founded, it is part of my job to uncover the real facts and the true position of Reformation and then present a suitable solution for the country.”
