Heartbreak for Team USA’s Chloe Kim as she falls to miss out on halfpipe THREEPEAT in front of NFL boyfriend Myles Garrett

Chloe Kim was left heartbroken after a nightmare slide cost her a historic snowboarding tour at the Winter Olympics on Thursday.
The 25-year-old Team USA star, applauded by her NFL star boyfriend Myles Garrett and A-list pal Snoop Dogg, came up short in the last of her three runs in the women’s halfpipe final, meaning she surrendered the Olympic title to 17-year-old South Korean sensation Choi Gaon.
Having successfully defended her crown in 2022, Kim narrowly missed out on becoming the first snowboarder in history to win three consecutive gold medals in her event; Her top score of 88.00 wasn’t enough to eclipse Choi’s incredible run of 90.25 at the Milan-Cortina Games.
Instead he had to settle for silver, while Japan’s Mitsuki Ono took the bronze.
Kim previously won the gold medal in the women’s halfpipe at the 2018 and 2022 Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang and Beijing, but participated in the 2026 Games with a serious injury.
In mid-January, he revealed that he had torn his left labrum, a type of shoulder joint cartilage, while training in Switzerland, meaning he could not train until ‘just before the Olympics’.
Chloe Kim failed to achieve a historic triple in the Olympic women’s halfpipe race on Thursday
NFL star boyfriend Myles Garrett watched Kim take a painful fall on her last run
Despite fears of injury, Jim hit the field running with a superb opening run scoring 88.00 as seven of the other 11 competitors suffered costly falls.
Choi took a hard tumble on her first run before the charming Kim and the rest of the crowd gathered on a snowy night in the Italian Alps.
The teenager hit the slope of the halfpipe and slid toward the middle of the course, where he remained for several minutes. After the intervention of medical personnel, he left the course without assistance.
It wasn’t even clear if he would return for the second run, but he did and he did it. Then came his closing halfpipe, which was good for gold.
Choi became the youngest player to win the X Games in 2023 at the age of 14. Now the first-time Olympian has become the first non-American woman to win a gold medal in snowboarding’s premier event since Australia’s Torah Bright in 2010. Kaitlyn Farrington won for the United States at the Sochi Olympics in 2014, and Kim triumphed in Pyeongchang and Beijing.
He would then leave Milan-Cortina with the unfamiliar feeling of being second best, and a nightmarish third run would cost him a place in the Olympic history books.

But Kim’s reign as Olympic women’s halfpipe champion ended after Thursday’s final
South Korean sensation Gaon Choi (17) instead won the gold medal with a best score of 90.25.
While Kim settled for the silver medal this time, Japan’s Mitsuki Ono won the bronze medal.
Cleveland Browns linebacker Garrett, who he has been dating for nearly a year, made the long trip from the San Francisco Bay Area to Italy after last weekend’s Super Bowl to support his girlfriend in her attempt to make history.
Meanwhile, Snoop Dogg showed up in Livigno wearing a custom-made Chloe Kim jacket to make it clear who he supports.
But the Browns player and legendary rapper could only watch as Kim jumped the final hurdle, meaning her reign as Olympic champion is now over.
The former champion, with a big smile on his face, went straight to congratulate Choi after appearing to take the defeat less than bitterly, before Garrett was seen consoling him.
