12 KGBV Students Suffer Rat Bites In NTR District

Vijayawada: VII at Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalaya (KGBV) in A. Konduru mandal in NTR district. About 12 female students studying in the class were exposed to mouse bites while sleeping in the dormitory on Wednesday night.

After the incident came to light, the authorities shifted the students to the local primary health center for treatment. It was stated that their condition was stable.

Tahsildar N. Aravind, along with other concerned officials, visited KGBV on Thursday, interacted with the affected students and recorded their statements.

Authorities suspect the mice entered the dormitory through open windows. It was also noted that the medical assistant position at KGBV has been vacant for a long time, raising concerns about student safety and supervision.
