The Lord Nelson Brewery Hotel, The Rocks
Cozy sandstone bar where beer is brewed on site.
Praise be to God. Built in 1836, the grand but cozy sandstone property is Sydney’s oldest continuously licensed hotel. He brews his own beer (Trafalgar English Bitter is our favorite for a session), oysters are shucked to order and the soulful pea pie is a must-have for visiting tourists. Bonus points for going slotless for the last forty years.
Best for: A pork pie and a glass of bitters.
