US Secretary of State flies to Munich Marco Rubio He made a very harsh warning and said:

“The world is changing very quickly in front of us: obviously the old world is goneThe world I grew up in, and we live in a new era of geopolitics, and it will require all of us to re-examine what that looks like and what our role will be.”

Earlier this week, The organisers’ assessment of the situation was even clearer, as they suggested that the post-war world order was “under destruction”. As we enter the “era of destructive policies” where “comprehensive destruction rather than careful reforms and policy adjustments is the order of the day.”

He added:

“The current US administration is the most prominent of those who have promised to free their country from the constraints of the current order and rebuild a stronger, more prosperous country. As a result, more than 80 years after construction began, The US-led post-1945 international order is now in ruins.”

US Ambassador to NATO, Matthew Whitaker, He rejected that assessment when responding to the report’s findings earlier this week (Europe Live, Monday), but there is no doubt that many Europeans see it that way.

People who will attend here For some reassurance, I look to Rubio’s speech on Saturday, I expect he will use more diplomatic tones than US vice president JD Vance, who attended the event last year.

But before we heard from Rubio, he had some European leaders lined up to take center stage today, including the German Chancellor. Friedrich Merz, and president of France Emmanuel Macron.

Here we’ll bring you lines from all the big speeches at MSC, some color footage from behind the scenes, and the first analysis of what we heard from global leaders.

His Friday, February 13, 2026, his Yakup Krupa here and this Europe Live.

Protective personnel:

US Secretary of State Marco Rubio said he will have the chance to meet with Volodymyr Zelenskyy at the Munich Security Conference this week.

A year after Vice President J.D. Vance stunned the assembled dignitaries with a verbal attack on many of the United States’ closest allies in Europe, Rubio plans to take a less contentious but philosophically similar approach when he addresses the annual convention on Saturday, U.S. officials say.

Before boarding his plane Thursday evening, Rubio offered reassuring words, saying Europe is important to Americans. “We have very close ties with Europe,” he told reporters. But he also made clear that it would not be business as usual: “We are living in a new era of geopolitics, and that will require all of us to re-examine what that looks like.”
