Logistics Giant DP World Boots Chairman Sultan Ahmed Bin Sulayem Amid Epstein Revelations

CAIRO (AP) — Dubai has announced a new chairman for DP World, one of the world’s largest logistics companies, to replace the former chairman named in the Jeffrey Epstein documents.

Sultan Ahmed bin Sulayem’s name was not specifically mentioned in the announcement made by the government’s Dubai Media Office. However, it was stated that Essa Kazim was appointed as the chairman of DP World and Yuvraj Narayan was appointed as the group CEO. These were the positions held by Bin Sulayem.

DP World is a logistics giant that operates the Jebel Ali port in Dubai and operates terminals in other ports around the world. It has long been a mainstay of the Middle Eastern city’s economy.

The statement came a day later financial groups Companies in Canada and the United Kingdom said they were pausing future ventures with DP World after newly released emails revealed a years-long friendship between bin Sulayem and Epstein.

Bin Sulayem previously had a larger role as chairman of the Dubai World conglomerate, which includes property developer Nakheel. This company was behind the creation of man-made islands shaped like palm trees and a world map that helped cement Dubai’s status as an up-and-coming global city.

State-run WAM news agency also reported that Dubai’s ruler, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, appointed the new head of the city-state’s Ports Customs and Free Zone Company. This was also a position held by bin Sulayem.

The topics in the emails between Epstein and bin Sulayem range widely, including President Donald Trump, sex and theology. Some of the emails, like others in the Epstein files, contain typos.

“You are literally one of my most trusted friends, you have never let me down,” Epstein wrote to bin Sulayem in a 2013 email. In response, bin Sulayem said: “Thank you, man, I have a 100% new female Russian example on my yacht.”

That same year, bin Sulayem sent an email to Epstein showing the menu of a massage business that included sexual overtures. Two years later, bin Sulayem texted Epstein a link to a porn site, and in 2017, Epstein texted bin Sulayem a link to an escort website.
