NYC braces for more snow and cold temps this weekend: What to expect

NEW YORK (PIX11) – Get ready, New York City. According to the National Weather Service, colder weather and snowfall is expected in our city starting tonight and into the weekend.

Expected weather conditions have led to the issuance of a Winter Operations Advisory by the New York City Department of Sanitation. The New York City Department of Emergency Management also issued a cold blue alert effective from 4 p.m. through Saturday morning.

What to expect this weekend?

Snowfall is expected in the city starting from Friday. The low temperature is expected to reach 28 degrees, according to the NWS.

Saturday morning’s high is expected to reach 42, but wind chills will be between 25 and 35.

Partly sunny weather is expected on Sunday. However, light snowfall is expected until Sunday evening. Total accumulations are expected to be no more than an inch. Probabilistic Winter Weather Forecasts.
