Bandi Accuses Cong, BRS, MIM of Playing ‘Dirty Politics’

Hyderabad:Union Minister of State Bandi Sanjay Kumar accused the Congress, BRS and MIM of indulging in “dirty and cheap politics” by uniting in Karimnagar to prevent the BJP from coming to power. He alleged that despite their efforts, the three parties were limited to 26 divisions, while the BJP, with its 30 seats and support from independents, had crossed the majority mark in the 66-member corporation.

Speaking at the state party office in Nampally, Sanjay said the parties were ashamed to openly form alliances. He stated that BRS MLA Gangula Kamalakar had openly urged his corporators to support the mayoral candidate nominated by the Congress. Extending his fake “Valentine’s Day wishes” to the Congress and BRS, he alleged that MIM was carrying on an “illegal relationship” with both.

Sanjay claimed that the voters sensed this implicit agreement even before the polls and supported the BJP. He questioned why the Congress government had not taken action against BRS leaders in cases like phone tapping, Formula E race and Kaleshwaram project (if there was no agreement).

He warned that BJP workers will chase Congress and BRS leaders on the streets of Karimnagar if they defy people’s instructions. He added that the BJP will expose the unfulfilled promises of the Congress to women, farmers, teachers, youth and retired employees, delaying pension benefits, DA and EPF amounts for five months.

Nicknamed Chief Minister Revanth Reddy “Bade Bhai” and AIMIM leader Akbaruddin Owaisi “Chota Bhai”, Sanjay noted that even Owaisi’s campaign had won MIM only three seats. Ahead of the polls, the BJP released a booklet detailing promises fulfilled, including ₹1,400 crore from the Center under the Smart Cities Mission. “We are ready to prove our resolve in the upcoming GHMC elections,” he said.

Sanjay also criticized the state intelligence for misleading Revanth Reddy with predictions of a Congress landslide, allocating only 13 seats to the BJP. “The Prime Minister should open his eyes,” he said.

At a separate press conference held in Nirmal, BJP Assembly floor leader A. Maheshwar Reddy highlighted that the party has increased from one seat in the previous council to 13 seats now. The Congress accused BRS and MIM of combining to garner 27,000 votes against the BJP’s 20,000 votes. While Congress won 24 seats, MIM and BRS bagged three and two seats respectively.
