Tarique Rahman to take oath as Bangladesh PM on Monday; PM Modi invited | World News

Tariq Rahman will be sworn in as Prime Minister of Bangladesh on Monday. South Asian leaders were invited to the oath-taking ceremony of Tariq Rahman and his cabinet.
“Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) Chairman Tariq Rahman will be sworn in as the new Prime Minister of Bangladesh with his cabinet on Monday.
South Asian leaders have been invited to the ceremony and several invitations have already been sent out.
However, due to weekend holidays in these countries, this may take some time and the attendance of leaders, especially Prime Ministers, will depend on availability at that time,” a reliable source told ANI on Saturday night.
The new Prime Minister and other members of his cabinet usually take oath at the Durbar Hall of the Bangladesh Presidential Palace Bangabhaban.
However, this time the swearing-in ceremony will be held at the South Plaza of Jatiya Sangsad Bhavan.
A senior official from the Bangladesh government told ANI that the Durbar Hall will not be able to accommodate such a large number of guests as many more guests have been invited for the ceremony, so the ceremony will be held at the South Plaza of Jatiya Sangsad Bhavan.
“Invitations have been sent to the prime ministers of South Asian countries, but they will finalize who will attend by Sunday.
They said they would inform us about their schedule and whether the Prime Minister could come on Monday.
“However, each country will send a representative at a certain level, and if a Prime Minister cannot attend, the Minister of Foreign Affairs will definitely come, this was also stated,” he added.
Meanwhile, party sources state that Tariq Rahman has started to form his cabinet.
However, this cabin will initially be very small.
It may expand later, but it will not be large initially.
For this reason, the number of cabinet members to be sworn in on Monday is expected to be small.
