Has former President Barack Obama finally answered one of the world’s greatest mysteries?
Appearing on Brian Tyler Cohen’s podcast on Saturday, the former commander-in-chief was asked directly whether aliens are real.
“They’re real, but I haven’t seen them,” Obama replied.
The 44th president also said the aliens were not being held at the Nevada Air Force base known as Area 51.

Obama continued: “Unless there is a conspiracy this big and they are hiding it from the President of the United States, there is no underground facility.”
Cohen then asked what Obama’s first question after becoming president was, and it again involved aliens.
“Oh, where are the aliens?” he joked.

Saturday’s interview wasn’t the first time Obama talked about the possible existence of extraterrestrial life.
On “The Late Late Show with James Corden” in 2021, Obama said that after taking office, he sought information about aliens and whether they had been studied in a secret laboratory. The answer was said to be “no”.
But Obama noted that authorities are seriously investigating planes exhibiting seemingly inexplicable behavior.

“There are images and recordings of objects in the sky where we don’t know exactly what they are,” he said. “We can’t explain how they moved and their trajectories. They didn’t have a structure that could be easily explained. I think people are still serious about researching and trying to understand what it is.”
Fox News White House correspondent Peter Doocy later asked President Joe Biden about Obama’s comments referencing unidentified aerial phenomena (UAP).
“What do you think happened?”
Biden replied, “I would ask Obama again.”

UAPs have received attention in recent years, including from the federal government.
Congress passed the Unidentified Anomalous Phenomena Disclosure Act in 2023, and the War Department also established the All-Domain Anomaly Resolution Office.
