Police departments across the country have come up with a unique suggestion for a Valentine’s Day gift, urging people to turn in exes with outstanding warrants.

The Uxbridge Police Department in Massachusetts published a sarcastic poem urging residents to seek revenge by reporting their exes on active leave.

“Roses are red, violets are blue,” the post begins. “If your ex has a warrant, we have something special for you.”

The post continues: “This Valentine’s Day, give a gift that actually works: a ride with twinkling lights and guaranteed closure.”

The ministry ended its post in a humorous way by reminding residents that “Love is lost, guarantees are not erased.”

A heart-covered brochure included in the post provided additional instructions for residents, joking that the department might not be responsible for Cupid but could make the holiday memorable.

“We can’t fix your love life, but we can help with unpaid leave,” the brochure states. “Send us where they are – we’ll make sure they get a Valentine’s Day visit.”

The brochure also includes a jail cell along with the department’s main phone number.

Earlier this week, the Bradenton Police Department in Florida shared a similar post that was liked nearly 230,000 times.

“Help us keep our community safe while we mend your broken heart,” the department wrote.
