Labour think tank commissioned firm to investigate journalists, the BBC understands

In a contract addressed to Simons and seen by BBC News, APCO Worldwide agreed to investigate the “sources, funding and origins” of the Sunday Times stories, as well as journalist Paul Holden and American correspondent Matt Taibbi, who published a book critical of Starmer and his former chief of staff Morgan McSweeney.
