Damon Albarn’s VERY awkward 2015 Graham Norton Show interview – as he blasts host for not inviting him back

Damon Albarn gave a very strange interview on the Graham Norton Show in 2015 when he appeared on the show with his Blur bandmates.
The 57-year-old singer took aim at Graham Norton for not inviting him back to the chat show during Friday’s episode.
This isn’t the first awkward conversation between the pair, as fans previously noted that Damon looked ‘bored’ during his appearance a decade ago.
In a section of the shared chat program YouTubeDamon was joined by bandmates Alex James, Graham Coxon and Dave Rowntree.
After performing their hit song Lonesome Street, viewers commented that Damon looked like he wanted to ‘leave’, then added that he ‘was always so grumpy on the show’.
Damon appeared quiet throughout the interview, putting his head in his hands as the rest of the group burst into laughter.

While viewers commented on his odd appearance, he wrote: ‘Damon is literally me at any social event.
‘Damon is always so grumpy on this show, he just wants to perform and LEAVE!!! hahaha, every time he smiles I have to rewind because I’m not sure if my eyes are lying to me’,
‘Damon is bored hahaha’, ‘I can’t handle the way Damon looks at Graham’,
‘Obviously Damon doesn’t like those kinds of setups but I really like both Blur and Graham Norton, he was laughing a bit in the interview but then stood up when it came to the red chair’,
‘Damon wants to go home’, ‘Damon looks very sad…’
This week, the singer appeared on stage alongside Adrian Lester, Leo Woodall, Stephen Graham and Kaley Cuoco.
He was at the show to promote Gorillaz’s tour, which ends at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in June.
In this week’s episode, Damon called out Graham about never being invited to the famous couch again.

After his Lonesome Street performance, viewers said Damon looked like he wanted to ‘leave’, then added that he was ‘always so grumpy on the show’.
“You didn’t invite me back,” he said, sipping his drink.
“Well, you’re here now,” Graham replied.
Damon continued: ‘I remember the last time I came back and told you in a nightclub… do you remember?’
‘What? ‘Was I in a nightclub?’ Graham asked, clearly confused.
Damon said, ‘Yeah, I was in a nightclub with you and I thought: ‘Why am I never on your show?’
‘I don’t remember this at all. “I must have been pretty drunk,” Graham admitted.
Damon joked: ‘Must be one of those nightclubs.’
‘Yes, it must be so. How funny. “I might have forgotten that because I’m weird,” Graham replied.

It comes after Damon was spotted taking a low-key stroll with a new female friend in August, two years after his highly publicized split from Suzi Winstanley.
In 2023, The Mail on Sunday revealed that Suzi had ended things with Damon after 25 years of being together, despite trying hard to save their relationship.
Sources close to the couple, who share 25-year-old daughter Missy, said it was ‘kept a bit of a secret’ and only told to those who needed to know.
They were also revealed to be struggling with the Blur frontman’s travel schedule and his insistence that he spends most of his time at their home in Devon and has converted part of the space into a recording studio.
A friend said: ‘Suzi was so heartbroken she didn’t tell anyone. He really, really tried, but the relationship couldn’t be saved.
‘It’s been so sad for him, I think when he spreads news like that around it all becomes very final.’
Suzi was said to be so heartbroken that she couldn’t listen to Albarn’s latest album, The Ballad Of Darren.
The lyrics of the song The Ballad say: ‘I just looked at my life/And all I see is you ain’t coming back.’

Other quotes imply that Albarn, also known for the virtual band Gorillaz, is at fault for the breakdown of the relationship.
The album’s second track, St Charles Square, contains the opening lines: “Fuck you/I’m not the first one to do this.”
Many of the lyrics tell the story of their romance, which began in the late 1990s after Albarn’s split from Elastica star Justine Fleischmann.
Albarn had moved into a two-bedroom flat in Ladbroke Grove and taken in fellow cartoonist Jamie Hewlett as a flatmate.
For their partnership, Olly and Suzi, who specialize in collaboratively depicting endangered wildlife, were invited to appear on Libby Purvis’s Radio 4 chat show Midweek, where Winstanley was also a guest.
Hewlett and Albarn would hold meet-ups at the property when they began pitching the idea for the Gorillaz project.
The Girls And Boys singer recalled in an interview with The Sunday Times in 2008: ‘We had incredible parties in the flat. ‘Some very interesting people walked through our doors that year.’
One of them was Winstanley, and at the end of 1999 they moved into a house together and welcomed their daughter Missy.
He previously described becoming a father as “witnessing a life force” in an interview with Esquire.
He said: ‘This changes you massively. It gradually shaves away any unsightly prickly parts and hopefully creates a beautifully rounded look. [life]. ‘I don’t know, when you have children you inevitably look more towards the future.’
The duo kept most details of their private lives private, but Albarn did reveal some on rare occasions.
He explained that they could never marry because of a fundamental lack of interest in the institution.
Albarn once said: ‘I don’t think you’ll marry me. Suzi doesn’t believe in marriage, and neither do I. ‘Everyone who gets divorced ruins everything.’
