Iran and US conclude second round of talks – here’s what came out of Geneva | World News

Washington: The second round of indirect talks between the USA and Iran resulted in positive signals from Iran in Geneva. Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi described the discussions as serious and constructive. He noted that a variety of ideas were presented and discussed in a focused and clear manner. He added that the parties have now agreed on guiding principles that will form the basis of a draft.
Although the process will take time, a definitive road map has been created. An exact date for the next round has not been set, but work will continue on the draft agreement before moving on to the third meeting.
According to the information obtained, journalists in Geneva said that the American delegation did not enter the building where the Omani foreign minister and the Iranian team were located.

Meanwhile, Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Khamenei warned US President Donald Trump about X and emphasized that the Islamic Republic can never be eliminated. He stated that despite America’s 47 years of efforts, Iran remains solid and will continue to resist any attempt to dismantle its system.
Trump has previously suggested that regime change in Iran could be “the best thing possible.” The statement was interpreted as a call to end Iran’s religious government structure. He said Washington had been talking his talk for decades, and many lives had been lost during that time.
Amid rising tensions, the United States has deployed a second aircraft carrier to the Middle East in an effort to pressure Iran to limit its nuclear program. Referring to this development in X, Khamenei described the warship as a danger, but warned that there are more dangerous forces that can neutralize such military assets.
While Tehran and Washington are exploring ways to advance talks, the Geneva talks remain cautiously optimistic as both sides continue to publicly clarify their positions. The next phase of discussions will focus on drafting an agreement and planning the third round of negotiations.
