Eternal-OpenAI deal: Zomato parent partners with US tech giant to boost AI integration — Details here
According to a report by PTI, Eternal on Tuesday (February 17) announced that it has expanded its strategic collaboration with OpenAI to advance artificial intelligence (AI) capabilities across its businesses, including Zomato, Blinkit, District, and Hyperpure, as well as its partner platforms and internal systems.
The collaboration, which also includes Eternal’s Feeding India initiative and AI startup Nugget, will focus on AI deployments across Eternal’s apps and highlight the growing importance of AI in India’s digital commerce sector.
Eternal will also work with OpenAI’s Enterprise API platform to find new ways for customers and partners to interact with their systems, use advanced AI tools in their partner applications, and incorporate advanced coding models into the internal AI management platform, the company said in a statement.
The company is developing AI infrastructure across both consumer and enterprise platforms to make AI a core element of the commerce ecosystem.
“Through this collaboration, the company aims to deploy OpenAI models in selected use cases, including AI-powered workflows for merchants and delivery partners, contextual AI assistants embedded in partner portals, and experiments around next-generation search and discovery interfaces. These efforts aim to make AI useful in daily decisions and workflows, while maintaining the reliability and speed required by its platforms,” the report said, as quoted by Eternal.
He added that the partnership also includes Eternal’s AI-based initiative Nugget, where OpenAI models will be used in specific use cases to accelerate product development and iteration.
Integration of OpenAI coding models
Eternal is also exploring the integration of OpenAI’s latest coding models, such as GPT-5.3-Codex, into its internal automation and developer orchestration platform, Stitch. Stitch provides comprehensive automation in both engineering and non-engineering fields.
The company said it expects this integration to increase Stitch’s capacity to help its teams deliver faster, automate complex workflows, and reduce manual workload across functions.
Eternal and OpenAI will collaborate on a structured Joint Skills Development Program to drive the adoption of AI across Eternal’s restaurant and delivery partner network. This program will focus on integrating advanced AI tools and assistants into partner applications and portals to increase operational efficiency, ensure compliance, and support business decision-making.
In the report, Eternal Group CEO Albinder Dhindsa said, “From high-leverage areas like software development to real-field consequences of impacting operations, we are learning about the evolving applications of newer and emerging tools in the AI environment. We are delighted that this collaboration with OpenAI will open up even more surface area for us to learn and innovate.”
